Beguiled by the visual

Warped by an imaginary standard
Only a shell of natural is left

Images of perfection cloud judgement
Leaving its voyeurs hollow and tainted

Intelligent conversation is no match for measurements
However, that's what's really important

Consuming images feasting on fads
The grass isn't greener but be damned if you don't acquiesce to the bigger better other side

falling into the splendor.
Needing what you cannot give
but waiting and still feeding off of the latter.

Awakening never felt like betrayal
until I witnessed the darkness awaken within you.
